West Germany, 1966, 88', DCP, b&w
German with Turkish subtitles

In West Berlin, a young unmarried couple enjoys a life free from the traditions and rules of their families. Hilke works as a technical draftsman in an architectural office, while her partner, Manfred, is an assistant to a famous real estate agent. Her unexpected pregnancy casts a shadow over her happiness. Instead of discussing the matter with her boyfriend, she goes alone to a doctor's office and keeps her plans hidden. Ulrich Schamoni almost sociologically depicts his society: West Germany in the turmoil of the 1960s. The film, emphasizing calls for the right to abortion, achieved great success nationwide and received numerous awards.
