Greek Film Days

December 3 - 8, 2024

Pera Museum is hosting the Greek Film Days for the third time, an event that once again brings together classic and award-winning films of Greek cinema with movie enthusiasts.

Organized in collaboration with EMEIS Cultural Collective from Greece and istos film and istos publishing from Turkey, the program will take place at the Pera Museum Auditorium from December 3 to 8, 2024. The event kicks off with The Striker with Number 9, a poignant sports film by Pantelis Voulgaris, which competed for the Golden Bear Award at the 1988 Berlin Film Festival. Over the course of the event, audiences will have the chance to watch 17 significant films from 1980s and 1990s Greek cinema.

This program’s screenings are free admission. Drop in, no reservations. As per legal regulations, all our screenings are restricted to persons over 18 years of age, unless stated otherwise.

Giorgio de Chirico was born on July 10, 1888, in Volos, Greece, to an Italian family. His mother, Gemma Cervetto, was from a family of Genoa origin, but most likely she was born in Izmir. His father, Evaristo, was born on June 21, 1841 in the Büyükdere district of Istanbul.
