Pera Film is hosting 37th Istanbul Film Festival! As part of the festival Pera Film will be screening the National Short Film Competition, National Documentary Competition and the program Cinemania, as well as other screenings.
Originated from the love for the art of filmmaking, this section is constructed on “the passion for cinema,” “cinephilia,” and “Cinemania.” A portmanteau section, “Cinemania” comprises the highlights, the landmarks and milestones, the unforgettables of the world of cinema: masterpieces of a career, in memoriam or in celebration; restored classics, lost films, cult movies, films on films, and surprises…

Program Trailer
Józef Brandt harboured a fascination for the history of 17th century Poland, and his favourite themes included ballistic scenes and genre scenes before and after the battle proper –all and sundry marches, returns, supply trains, billets and encampments, patrols, and similar motifs illustrating the drudgery of warfare outside of its culminating moments.
Among the most interesting themes in the oeuvre of Prassinos are cypresses, trees, and Turkish landscapes. The cypress woods in Üsküdar he saw every time he stepped out on the terrace of their house in İstanbul or the trees in Petits Champs must have been strong images of childhood for Prassinos.
