Fluid Interventions

Pera Adult

  • June 29, 2025 / 14:30

The relationship between fluidity, coincidence and intervention, which we frequently encounter in Samih Rifat's work, allows for both an experimental connection with the material and the creation of a personal interpretive space in the workshop. Participants have the chance to reproduce the layered and sensuous surface effects observed in Rifat's works with their own experiences by applying ink to different surfaces through methods such as spraying, dripping and printing.

In the second stage of the workshop, the compositions are shaped with pencil drawings on the resulting stains and color transitions. In this way, the participants shape their visual narratives with an intuitive and intellectual approach, just like Samih Rifat.

Capacity: 10 people
Duration: 90 minutes
Fee per workshop: 500 TL

The event will take place at the Pera Museum.

Modernity Building the Modern / Reshaping the Modern

Modernity Building the Modern / Reshaping the Modern

A firm believer in the idea that a collection needs to be upheld at least by four generations and comparing this continuity to a relay race, Nahit Kabakcı began creating the Huma Kabakcı Collection from the 1980s onwards. Today, the collection can be considered one of the most important and outstanding examples among the rare, consciously created, and long-lasting ones of its kind in Turkey.
