Ben Eastham, the London-based art critic and editor with The White Review and the art-agenda will be in Istanbul to lead the Arts and Culture Writing Workshop for emerging visual art writers that The British Council is organising with the support of Mixer during the Istanbul Biennial.
Ben Eastham will also be in a public talk with artist Merve Ünsal who is also the founding editor of the artist-driven online publishing initiative m-est.org. Eastham and Ünsal will talk about art writing as a professional practice and as an entrepreneurial approach. This talk is a part of the 15th Istanbul Biennial Neighbour Events.
Free of admissions, drop in. This event will take place in the auditorium. The talk will be in English and Turkish with simultaneous translation.

Ali Sami is born in Rusçuk in 1866, and moves to İstanbul. Because his family is registered in the Beylerbeyi quarter of Üsküdar, Ali Sami is also called Üsküdarlı Ali Sami. He graduates from the Mühendishane-i Berri-i Hümayun in 1866 and becomes a teacher of painting and photography at the school.
Published as part of Pera Learning programs, “The Little Yellow Circle (Küçük Sarı Daire)” is a children’s book written by Tania Bahar and illustrated by Marina Rico, offering children and adults to a novel learning experience where they can share and discover together.
