Pera Kids
Ages 10-12

  • July 29, 2023 / 13:30

Inspired by the exhibition titled Isabel Muñoz: A New Story, participants explore their body, emotions and thoughts, as well as the ancient history of humanity, using the combination of movement, dance, and body-mind-breath. While tracing the findings from Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe and Sayburç that have aided in a rewriting of history, the participants transfer memories from their journey on large papers on the floor and on the wall using crayons, just like the ones we inherited ten thousand years ago.

Instructor: Gözde Dinç
Capacity: 10 people
Duration: 90 minutes
Fee per workshop: 200 TL

The event will take place at the Pera Museum (face-to-face).

Doublethinking About Big Brother!
11 Quotes from 1984

Our Doublethink Double vision exhibition’s title alludes to George Orwell’s seminal work 1984 and presents a selection that includes Tracey Emin, Marcel Dzama, Anselm Kiefer, Bruce Nauman, Raymond Pettibon, and Thomas Ruff, as well as Turkish artists, tracing the steps of pluralistic thought through works of art.

1638, the year Louis XIV was born –his second name, Dieudonné, alluding to his God-given status– saw the diffusion of a cult of maternity encouraged by the very devout Anne of Austria, in thanks for the miracle by which she had given birth to an heir to the French throne. Simon François de Tours (1606-1671) painted the Queen in the guise of the Virgin Mary, and the young Louis XIV as the infant Jesus, in the allegorical portrait now in the Bishop’s Palace at Sens.
