After visiting the exhibitions titled Intersecting Worlds: Ambassadors and Painters and Osman Hamdi Bey with a guide, children examine the centuries-old portraits in the paintings and discuss people's clothing, accessories, posture, and expressions. In the workshop, the details of the figures in these paintings are cut out and placed between transparent films. They use various decorative materials and paints to create new characters and finalize their collages with a laminating machine.

Capacity: 10 people
Duration: 60 minutes
Fee per workshop: 350 TL

The event will take place at the Pera Museum.

The Ottoman Way of Serving Coffee

The Ottoman Way of Serving Coffee

Coffee was served with much splendor at the harems of the Ottoman palace and mansions. First, sweets (usually jam) was served on silverware, followed by coffee serving. The coffee jug would be placed in a sitil (brazier), which had three chains on its sides for carrying, had cinders in the middle, and was made of tombac, silver or brass. The sitil had a satin or silk cover embroidered with silver thread, tinsel, sequin or even pearls and diamonds.
