Glowing Colors: Lamp Design

Pera Kids
Ages 7-12

  • November 13, 2024 / 13:30

Children are inspired by Gizella Rákóczy's watercolors, in which the same color is layered in different numbers and the resulting light and dark tones diversify the compositions. After examining these layered works, which intersect with each other to create new colors, the children design a cylindrical lamp by gluing colored transparent papers on top of each other in various ways. At the end of the workshop, children experience the surprise colors emitted by their lamps by placing electronic candles inside their designs.

Capacity: 12 people
Duration: 90 minutes
Fee per workshop: 350 TL

The event will take place at the Pera Museum (face-to-face).

Nam June Paik Video Art’s Pioneer

Nam June Paik Video Art’s Pioneer

Nam June Paik was video art’s pioneer (1932 –2006). It is interesting that while Warhol and Nameth were experimenting with psychedelic happenings that combined rock, film and performance, the video art pioneers Nam June Paik, Stephen Beck, Eric Siegel and Steina Vasulka were researching in a similar direction.

Transition to Sculpture

Transition to Sculpture

If Manolo Valdés’s paintings convey a search for materiality, his sculpture does so even more. Today, sculpture has taken over most of his workspace, his time, and his efforts.
