An outstanding and versatile photographer of the 20th century, Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) was not only engaged in painting, illustration, caricature, theater, and cinema, but he was also a best-selling author, a historian of photography, and, on occasion, and actor.
Throughout his professional life that extended from the 1920s to the 1970s, Beaton immortalized, in his famous photographs, leading names of the century extending from actors and actresses to writers, artists, politicians, and even members of the royal family.
With the participation of Terence Pepper, Cecil Beaton, Portraits exhibition curator and consultant to Photographs at the National Portrait Gallery London, as well as Joanna Ling, the curator of Sotheby’s Cecil Beaton Studio Archive, the discussion will offer a glimpse into Beaton’s career and an opportunity to have a closer look at the exhibition.

Our institutions have been stuck on linear Neo-Platonic tracks for 24 centuries. These antiquated processes of deduction have lost their authority. Just like art it has fallen off its pedestal. Legal, educational and constitutional systems rigidly subscribe to these; they are 100% text based.
Published as part of Pera Learning programs, “The Little Yellow Circle (Küçük Sarı Daire)” is a children’s book written by Tania Bahar and illustrated by Marina Rico, offering children and adults to a novel learning experience where they can share and discover together.
