Pera Museum’s talk and performance series Electronic Crossovers invites you to explore the fields that interact with electronic music!
A fruit of collaboration with Istanbul-based musical collective ÆVOM, “Electronic Crossovers” looks at a range of fields and disciplines that feed on and interact with electronic music, technology, literature, cinema, environment, psychology, sociology, computer games, politics, urban transformation, nature and philosophy to name a few. The December event of the series will feature Başar Ünder covering electronic music, noise and narrative.
In his presentation, the artist discusses the conceptual themes and methods that underlie his artistic production in light of interactions with fields like games and movies. Musicologist Ümit Üret, who works on independent music, noise and politics, will deliver a presentation and a live DJ performance.

The event will take place at the Pera Museum Auditorium. Free admission; drop in. The talk will be in Turkish.
Başar Ünder was born in 1984 in Istanbul. He received an undergraduate degree in Sociology at Istanbul University. In 2006, he worked for Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges (IMEB) as a resident composer with a UNESCO Aschberg Bursaries for Artists grant. In 2010, he earned a Sound Engineering and Design MA degree from ITU MIAM - Centre for Advanced Studies in Music. In 2014, the original music he composed for Song of My Mother (Annemin Şarkısı) was recognized as the Best Music at the 51st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. The same year he contributed to the Anthology of Turkish Experimental Music 1961-2014 album by Sub Rosa with his work Diving. In 2017, he became a member of the European Film Academy (EFA). In 2018, he enrolled in the Estalagem Da Ponta Do Sol Residency For Contemporary Music And Electronics program. In fall 2018, Ünder joined Bahçeşehir University as a part-time academic and the head of research group in the Digital Game Design program.

The museum is closed on Mondays.
On Wednesdays, the students can
visit the museum free of admission.
