Inspired by Calculations and Coincidences, the workshop combines technical Lego bricks and coding. Children build drawing machines by changing angles, directions and the position of the cogs, and create color and pattern combinations by integrating colored pencils into the machine.
Instructor: Bricks4Kidz Ulus
Capacity: 10 people
Duration: 90 minutes
Fee per workshop: 300 TL
The event will take place at the Pera Museum (face-to-face).

About Bricks4Kidz
Bricks4Kidz® is a global organisation founded in 2008 in the USA, operating in more than 800 territories in nearly 40 countries, using in-house developed content and LEGO® products to develop children between the ages of 3 and 13 in a multifaceted way through play. Bricks4Kidz® organises hands-on workshops where children use LEGO® bricks to build basic machine assemblies, famous landmarks and robots. Prior to the application, children receive S.T.E.M. based training on the model they are building. Children also learn the basic theories of engineering, architecture, physics and mathematics in practice through project content and support in practice.
Inspired by its Anatolian Weights and Measures Collection, Pera Museum presents a contemporary video installation titled For All the Time, for All the Sad Stones at the gallery that hosts the Collection. The installation by the artist Nicola Lorini takes its starting point from recent events, in particular the calculation of the hypothetical mass of the Internet and the weight lost by the model of the kilogram and its consequent redefinition, and traces a non-linear voyage through the Collection.
In a bid to review the International System of Units (SI), the International Bureau of Weights and Measures gathered at the 26th General Conference on Weights and Measures on November 16, 2018. Sixty member states have voted for changing four out of seven basic units of measurement. The kilogram is among the modified. Before describing the key points, let us have a closer look into the kilogram and its history.
