The inspiration for this workshop is the project of the artistic duo Irwan Ahmett & Tita Salina that is being exhibited at the 17th Istanbul Biennial, which extends to the northern shores of Indonesia, in between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. We are conjuring up in our minds the creatures living in the oceans that occupy 70 percent of our planet, waters that are dark due to the vastness of their depths. We set out in this workshop to discover the many colorful creatures living in the oceans of our imagination, using flashlights we make out of carton. We use our creativity and our imagination as we think about our environment, the marine ecosystem, how to prevent pollution of the seas and the oceans, and about the non-human creatures that live in these waters.

Midnight Stories: The Soul
Aşkın Güngör

The wind blows, rubbing against my legs made of layers of metal and wires, swaying the leaves of grass that have shot up from the cracks in the tarmac, and going off to the windows that look like the eyes of dead children in the wrecked buildings that seem to be everywhere as far as the eye can see.

Venuses Throughout History

José Sancho does not conceal the voluptuousness of his female torsos; he highlights it. These torsos are symmetrical from front, but on the other hand, from the side, the juxtaposition of concave and convex forms creates dynamism.
