Primary School and Middle School

Dig, Discover, Paint!

Did you know that the science working on ancient objects and remains is called archeology? The American artist Norman Daly’s works employed mythic figures, of humans, animals or those transmuted via abstracting techniques. He later pioneered in the “archaeological art”.

Following a tour of the exhibition, the workshop opens with a briefing on archaeology, archaeologists, and paleontology. The subsequent pairing game distributes some letters with which we explore the names of nature’s living creatures in the sand-filled containers. We pair the names and creatures, draw the sketches of the creatures, and form animal or plant figures of clay on paperboard, which we then color with acrylic paints. This workshop provides information on cultural heritage and develops skills such as hand-eye coordination, imagination, and creativity.
