The Whole of the Nude

13 December 2015

Pera Learning will organize the workshop “The Whole of the Nude” for ages 15 and above as part of the exhibition Bare, Naked, Nude: A Story of Modernization in Turkish Painting.

In this workshop, participants will study the works they choose through color and form. First, they will divide the whole into parts. They will recreate the divided whole in geometric forms and transform them into three-dimensional shapes. The participants will sieve the painting they look at through the filter of art, widen their perspectives, and then subjectify it. While maintaining their freedom of choice in materials and expression, they will use the painting as a source of inspiration and a starting point for expanding their creative ideas. As they transform a two-dimensional surface into a three-dimensional one, they will explore the relationship between what is concrete and abstract. As everything they see can serve as a clue in a new process of creation, they will discover the difference between looking and seeing.
