Pera Young

Hip-Hop Workshop for Youth Day

In collaboration with the Association for the Development of Social and Cultural Life, Pera Education is celebrating National Youth and Sports Day on May 21, 2017 with a Hip-Hop dance workshop for ages between 13 and 17!

Hip-Hop emerged in the late 70s as a culture and lifestyle created by the poor black minority living under dire conditions in the US as a way of getting away from daily troubles and having some fun. Hip-Hop is one of the most popular dance styles of the 21st century and includes various other styles such as Popping, Locking, Breaking, House Dance, and Street Jazz.

The workshop will begin with an introduction on the history and basic principles of the Hip-Hop dance, and will continue with choreography and free dance at Pera Café as our dance work. We will have great fun during this dynamic workshop, where we will learn how to use feet movements, mimics, and coordination. At the end of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to freestyle.
